Stir Crazy: Taking a Vacation During COVID19

Is the stress from COVID19 making you feel like you are at your breaking point? Now more than ever, you need to take a vacation from your daily routine. Getting away and taking a trip away from home is the cure for the common blues. Taking a vacation during COVID19 is now possible.

How to do this safely and where to go is the problem. I have contemplated this issue for weeks. I think I have found a solution.

Where Should I Go?

Social distancing is still very important. You need to choose a spot away from home where you are still practicing this. My recommendation would be to get back to nature.

Check out my other blog on The Power of Nature.

I recently went camping for 5 days in Chilhowee Campground in Tennessee. It was exactly what the doctor ordered. I felt safe the entire time and was able to social distance myself.

I would recommend finding a campsite that has full bathroom facilities, like a toilet and shower. It is important to stay clean and to be able to wash your hands.

How to get from Point A to Point B?

Traveling by airplane right now is too risky. If you have a family it could get downright chaotic.

Traveling by car is the safest way to arrive at your destination. Taking a road trip and traveling by car keeps you safe and away from unnecessary contact with others.

Taking a car is also easier because you can make sure to pack everything you need and do not have baggage restrictions like on an airplane.

While traveling do not forget to bring a face mask and hand sanitizer for when you need to make a rest stop and get gas.

Don’t have a face mask? You can make one at home by following these directions for How to Make a Face Mask DIY.

What Activities to Do?

If you decide to go camping there are plenty of activities that will keep you safely distanced from others.

I hope this article helps you relieve some stress and allows time for self-reflection. Camping was such a wonderful experience that I plan on doing again this summer.

Until the world opens up again, camping is a safe way to take a vacation away from home.

Please stay safe and remember my fellow travel friends, we are all in this together.
